Book your reservations to Catalina early--there are a lot of people coming over to the Island. There is hotel lodging in Avalon and camping available at Hermit Gulch, near Avalon. You must purchase your own boat fare over to Catalina. IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ENTRY FEE. Both races start and finish in Avalon. Catalina Express and the Marina Del Rey Flyer have early morning race day boats that you can take on Saturday Ferry Service
Catalina Express has year-round service and up to 30 daily departures from San Pedro, Long Beach and Dana Point. High-speed boats get you there in about an hour. Call or log on to www.catalinaexpress.com for schedules and fares.
The Catalina Flyer has boats departing from Newport Beach. Call or visit their web site for more information. One boat per day, leaving in the morning at 9 AM and coming back to Newport Beach at 4:30 PM. Check website for current fares.

Some hotels may have 2-day minimums. Please book your reservation early as room space does run out. There are also many houses for rent on the island that are available for weekend rental.
