2008 Catalina Marathon Registration for the 2008 Buffalo Run and 2008 Catalina Marathon is now open. Register by August 1st to take advantage of our early registration discounts. BUFFALO RUN HALF MARATHON & 5K –FEBRUARY 9, 2008 The Buffalo Run is the ultimate in trail running using the East End trails of Catalina Island. This half marathon course takes you from sea level to a 1600 foot elevation then returns to sea level. Spectacular views of San Clemente Island and Avalon. We also feature a popular 5K course. The entry fee is $65 if you register by August 1st. Every participant will receive a finisher medal, long sleeve t-shirt, and goodie bag. The race traverses mostly dirt trails and roads through areas of the interior of the Island where very few have gone. Enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery while running 26.2 miles over the Island of Catalina. It is a hilly, challenging Marathon, but worth every mile! AMERICAN TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIP The Buffalo Run Half Marathon and Catalina Marathon combine to form the American Trail Championship. Awards are based on the combined time in both events and given to the top male and female overall as well as winners in each age and weight category.
